A mixture of two chemically unrelated compounds produced by Streptomyces pristinaespiralis, comprising pristinamycin IA (a cyclic depsipeptide) and pristinamycin IIA (a macrolide) in a ratio of 30:70. An oral streptogramin antibiotic with bactericidal activity against Gram positive organisms including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
